Inter Defender Ranocchia: “We Can Redeem Ourselves Against Ludogorets, We Can’t Underestimate Them”

Inter centre back Andrea Ranocchia believes that tomorrow night’s Europa League round of 32 first leg match with Ludogorets is a chance at redemption for the team after their previous two matches have ended in defeat.

“It is a new competition and we must go far and we can redeem ourselves for the last two games. Tomorrow will be a new beginning,” the Italian defender explained in an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV after the pre-match press conference that took place earlier on today.

Ranocchia was then asked how it feels to be on the verge of making 200 competitive appearances across all competitions for Inter.

“It brings me incredible pride, not many players have had this opportunity. When the time comes, because I haven’t reached it yet, I will celebrate properly.”

He concluded by sharing one thing he believes he and his teammates cannot afford to do tomorrow night at the Ludoogorets Arena in Razgrad, Bulgaria.

“It would be mistake for us to underestimate a team that is first in their league, we have to put everything we have prepared into practice on the pitch.”

This season Ranocchia has found playing time very limited. The former Genoa player, who joined Inter back in January 2011, has taken to the pitch just four times across all competitions this season. In 360 minutes in total on the park, Ranocchia has contributed a single goal.
