Inter centre back Andrea Ranocchia believes that he and his teammates must do their best to get as far as possible in the Europa League ahead of their Europa League round of 32 first leg match-up away to Ludogorets tomorrow night.

“I always say when a player is part of Inter and he wears these colours and this badge, he must always have high ambitions,” the Italian defender, explained to the gathered media who were in attendance at the the pre-match press conference at the Ludogorets Arena in Razgrad.

“The other side of the coin is that we must all improve on and off the field. It is an important competition, we must get as far as possible. Tomorrow will not be easy.”

He was then asked what, if anything changes, for defenders, when the starting goalkeeper is changed, as has been the case at Inter in recent weeks with Daniele Padelli having played in the absence of the injured Samir Handanovic.

“Nothing changes, he is a teammate like everyone else. I have maximum confidence in those who play, since July we have been working.

“It is clear that there are easier roles which you can be ready for. Padelli has had some great games and of course he has a lot of eyes on him as he has replaced Handanovic.

“I have confidence in everyone, this is the basis on which to build a winning group. We are all working towards the same goals, regardless of who plays.”

In conclusion he was asked if the team he is currently part of is the best one that he has played in in all his years with the club.

“We need to prove it, because we are still in February. I hope so as it would mean winning some trophies. The season is in full swing, now we have to bring out everything we have from here to the end.”

The 32-year-old has found playing time very limited this season with him having made just four appearances across all competitions. He is however widely expected to start tomorrow evening.
