Inter Goalkeeper Handanovic To Begin Working With The Ball Again In Coming Days & Could Return To Face Sampdoria

Inter captain and number one goalkeeper Samir Handanovic is to step up in his recovery from injury in the coming days according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset.

The 35-year-old Slovenian goalkeeper has missed Inter’s past four games across all competitions due to a hairline fracture to the small finger in his left hand but is getting close to a full recovery.

In his absence Daniele Padelli has deputised in between the sticks and he will do so at least once more with him to start in goal for Inter tomorrow evening in their Europa League round of 32 first leg tie away to Bulgarian giants Ludogorets.

Handanovic has been training without the ball since he sustained the injury in training but is expected to start ball work on Saturday. Depending on how that goes, he may make a return to action for the match against Sampdoria on Sunday at San Siro.
