Paris Saint Germain are unsure about whether they wish to take up their option to sign Mauro Icardi on a permanent basis from Inter according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.
The recently turned 27-year-old joined the reigning Ligue 1 Champions on a season long loan during the Summer transfer window and as part of the deal, PSG have an option to turn his stay in the French capital into a permanent one for a sum of €70 million.
Juventus have taken notice of the uncertainty regarding Icardi’s future with Paris Saint Germain and could well make a move for him this coming Summer to bolster their attacking department which contains 35-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo and 33-year-old Gonzalo Higuain, whose contract expires at the end of next season.
The report goes on to state that given how low the purchase option is for a player of Icardi’s calibre, PSG could still sign Icardi, who has scored 19 goals this season, but then go on to sell him.
