Samir Handanovic will make his long awaited return to the Inter starting line-up in Thursday’s Coppa Italia semi final second leg away to Napoli according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.
The 35-year-old Slovenian shot-stopper has missed Inter’s past six matches as a result of a hairline fracture to the small finger in his left hand.
He has however fully recovered and was expected to return this past weekend against Juventus but the Derby D’Italia was postponed as a result of the ongoing Coronavirus situation in Italy.
The Inter captain has made 29 appearances across all competitions to date this term, in which time he has conceded 29 goals and kept a total of eight clean sheets.
His return will certainly come as a welcome boost to the team who have let in a lot more goals than they usually would have in his absence whilst Daniele Padelli has stood in for him in between the sticks.
