Inter face competition from Barcelona for the signature of Arsenal striker and club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang according to a report from British news outlet The Daily Express.

As per the report, Barcelona have been keeping a close eye on the Gabonese international’s situation with the north London club and believe that they could tempt him into leaving due to the fact they are in the Champions League.

Inter are also keeping tabs on the situation and could move for the former Borussia Dortmund man if Barcelona are to buy Lautaro Martinez from them.

The 30-year-old has little over a year left on his current contract with the Gunners, who he has played for since January 2018, and doubts remain over whether or not Aubameyang will agree to a contract extension.

If he doesn’t, Arsenal may be forced into selling him in the Summer due to the fact clubs could approach him on a pre-contract basis six months down the line.

This season he has made 31 appearances across all competitions in which he has scored 20 goals and tallied a single assist.
