Ex-Inter Striker Martins Set To Make Return To Football Having Recovered From Injury

Former Inter striker Obafemi Martins is set to make a return to football after a number of months without a club according to a report from Titan Sports.

The veteran Nigerian striker left Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua after suffering an injury a few months back but is now set to make a return to them.

Shenhua lost star striker Odion Ighalo to Premier League club Manchester United in the recent January transfer window and they are to bring 35-year-old Martins back to the club to be his replacement.

In his previous spell with the club, Martins netted 32 goals in 59 appearances across all competitions and the bosses of the Chinese club will no doubt be hoping he can provide a similar goal return this time round.

Martins spent five years with Inter between 2001 and 2006 and became known for his frightening pace and acrobatic celebrations. He made 136 appearances for the club in which he scored 49 goals and provided 12 assists.
