Inter Midfielder Borja Valero: “Inter & AC Milan Have A Healthy Rivalry”

Inter midfielder Borja Valero spoke about the ongoing Coronavirus emergency and its impact on the Italian people in an interview with Spanish TV host Christian Galvez today. His words were noted by Italian media outlet FcInterNews.

“I am 100% sure that we are going to change our lifestyle for the future. And also, the way we cheer for our team. The Italian sports newspapers are now talking about Covid-19, but also about the future football market, even if there is little meat there.”

He then spoke about the situations in Spain and Italy.

“We’re in the biggest hotbed in Italy. And Spain is the second biggest hotbed in Europe, but fortunately all my loved ones are doing well.”

Finally, Valero discussed the rivalry between Inter and AC Milan.

“Inter and Milan are great rivals, even if they call each other cousins. There’s healthy competition.”

The 35-year-old Spaniard, whose contract expires with the Nerazzurri at the end of the season, is expected to leave in the summer, three years after his arrival. The player has made 15 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 844 minutes. In that time, he has scored two goals and slowly worked his way into coach Antonio Conte’s squad.

Valero was praised by Conte for his professionalism despite the limited playing time at the start of the season. He was key for the Lecce born coach when the squad’s midfield options were limited due to multiple injuries.
