Barcelona are still working hard to formulate a tempting deal for Inter striker Lautaro Martinez, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.

The report details how the 22-year-old Argentine striker, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, is the favourite of the Catalan club, who believe that he would be the perfect replacement for the aging Luis Suarez. The player himself wants to join the club and knows that his hero Lionel Messi is waiting with open arms to welcome him. Suarez is also inclined to welcome Lautaro, despite the inevitable competition between the two for a starting spot.

Barcelona are preparing to offer multiple players for Lautaro, the report continues. These players include previous Inter target Arturo Vidal, Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic, Brazilian midfielder Rafinha and Spanish midfielder Carles Aleñá.

Manchester City are also keen to sign Lautaro and are preparing to launch a strong offer for the player.
