Former Inter and Italian national team midfielder Salvatore Bagni also spoke to the Gazzetta dello Sport’s weekly magazine ‘Fuorigioco’ where he talked about Inter’s group and their journey in this year’s Champions League.
“It is a very strong group, but we already knew that, aside from all the problems at the start of the season thanks to players returning late due to the World Cup, Spalletti’s team is now all here, with personality and quality. Just look at the effect that Nainggolan had when he made his return, his presence on the pitch alone gives his teammates a strong sense of confidence. The game against Tottenham will be a difficult one, but I’m confident in the team. If Inter, who I think will fight for the Scudetto, gets past the group stages of the Champions League, then I think they will be a very difficult team for anyone to stop.”
