There will be yet more contact between Mauro Icardi, his wife/agent Wanda Icardi and Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta today according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport as solution to the recent situation continues to be sought.

Icardi is ultimately waiting to hold talks with Inter president Steven Zhang but it is Marotta who has been tasked with dealing with this latest saga that has now lasted a month.

Icardi was stripped of the Inter captaincy last month prior to Inter’s Europa League round of 32 match with Rapid Vienna and has not played in a match since.

The report from the Milan based newspaper also reports that Icardi’s Inter teammates are still awaiting some positive action from the 26-year-old striker in the shape of an explanation.

While some teammates initially called for his return, a lot of players appear tired of the situation given their recent comments in interviews when asked about him.
