The end to the ongoing soap opera between Inter and Mauro Icardi is anything but close in the eyes of Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

Icardi and his wife/agent Wanda Icardi were not in attendance yesterday as Inter beat SPAL 2-0 at home which raised eyebrows given they have attended all of Inter’s other home games since the situation began around a month ago.

Wanda however admitted last night on Tiki Taka that she and her husband, in agreement with the club, took the decision to remain at home to avoid any controversy during the week Inter celebrate their 111th birthday.

The 26-year-old Argentine’s return to the rest of the group seems equally as far away as the end to the situation, the report continues.

Moreover, further contact between Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta and Paolo Nicoletti – the lawyer that the Icardi’s have appointed to help deal with the situation – is expected this week.
