Lautaro Martinez in all likelihood should get the nod over Mauro Icardi to start Inter’s game away to Udinese this coming weekend according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.
The young Argentine forward started Saturday’s Derby D’Italia draw with Juventus at San Siro on the bench and the Rome based newspaper believe that this was solely for tactical reasons and not that Icardi has taken over as the number one striker at the club again.
Against lowly Udinese, there should be ‘normality’ again with the 21-year-old leading the Inter line over compatriot Icardi, who lost his place as starter due to his two month absence between February and the start of this month.
This season Lautaro Martinez has made 31 appearances across all competitions. In 1562 minutes on the park, El Toro has managed to score nine goals, a respectable tally for a debut campaign at the club. He has also provided two assists.
