Inter target Federico Chiesa has the freedom to choose which club he signs with next due to an agreement he struck with Fiorentina last year, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Chiesa agreed to remain in Florence for another season last summer on the condition he would be able to determine his own future in 2019.

Fiorentina published an official statement yesterday which declared the 21-year-old would not be sold during this transfer window, but Chiesa’s future is still likely to be elsewhere.

“Federico remains a Fiorentina supporter but he’ll do what’s possible to ensure he leaves the Viola this summer,” Gazzetta reported this morning.

“His father Enrico will speak with the club’s new owners when Rocco Commisso finalises his deal with the Della Valle family.”

Chiesa’s desire to stay in Italy means it will likely be a two-way fight between Inter and Juventus to secure his services over the coming weeks.
