Inter Face Uphill Battle To Sign Manchester United Striker Lukaku

Inter face an uphill battle to sign Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku despite the player’s desire to move to Italy, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Lukaku is no longer part of the Red Devils’ plans for the coming season but is nonetheless valued at €80 million, a price recent reports have suggested Inter have no intention to meet.

The Rome-based paper today reported there have been no recent contacts between the clubs, with United determined not to part company with their striker on the cheap.

“Inter could only sign Lukaku if Icardi went in the other direction or if they could raise funds by selling him first,” they explained.

“Antonio Conte wants Lukaku but the quest to see him in an Inter shirt at the moment is a tricky one.”

Lukaku scored 15 goals in all competitions for United last season, including a double against Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
