Inter & Cagliari Could Meet For ‘Decisive’ Barella Talks This Weekend

Inter and Cagliari could meet this weekend for do-or-die talks over the Rossoblu’s midfielder Nicolo Barella, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Barella has given his word to Inter after agreeing personal terms with the Nerazzurri, but Cagliari remain firm on their initial €50 million asking price.

If Beppe Marotta does not meet Tommaso Giulini over the weekend he will do so at the start of next week, but Inter may need to speed up negotiations to avoid unpleasant surprises.

“It’s not impossible other clubs, such as Paris Saint-Germain, could turn up and make a monster offer to the player while giving €50 million to Cagliari,” Gazzetta warned this morning.

“At that point it would be difficult to say no, for everyone.”

Yesterday’s papers reported Milan were also interested in signing Barella and had offered Cagliari €35 million plus add-ons.

Inter remain strong favourites to secure the 22-year-old, though, and will continue to be so until Barella has a sudden and unexpected change of heart.
