Matias Vecino has backed his Uruguay teammates to shine at the Copa America after a thigh injury ruled him out of the tournament.
Vecino played 83 minutes of the Celeste’s 4-0 win against Ecuador but was taken off having sustained the problem.
Oscar Tabarez’s side will continue their Group C campaign when they face Chile on Monday night.
“I’m sad I can’t play in this Copa America anymore but I have a lot of faith in this group,” the Inter midfielder said on Instagram today.
“From today I’ll be your first supporter lads!”
