Inter have promised Nicolò Barella they will sign him in time to include the midfielder in their preseason tour of Asia, according to Sportitalia.
The Nerazzurri will fly to Nanjing on 18 July before playing Manchester United in the International Champions Cup two days later.
Barella moved significantly closer to becoming an Inter player on Monday evening when the club met Cagliari for fresh talks.
The TV station reported a deal could be finalised by Friday, bringing an end to several weeks of drawn out negotiations.
Inter will play Juventus shortly after their fixture with United and then Paris Saint-Germain await in the International Super Cup.
Antonio Conte’s side face Tottenham upon their return to Europe before playing their final preseason friendly against Valencia at the Mestalla Stadium on 10 August.
The first team began preseason training in Switzerland yesterday and will make their first official outing against Lugano at the weekend.
