Inter hope Mauro Icardi will reconsider a move to Roma so the Nerazzurri can complete a deal for Edin Dzeko, according to Corriere della Sera.

Icardi is an unwelcome presence within Inter’s dressing room and is not part of Antonio Conte’s plans for the coming season.

The striker spent half of today training alone, despite the first team’s return to Appiano Gentile, as he is still short of the fitness levels required to work properly with Conte.

Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio watched part of the sessions on Wednesday before having lunch with their new head coach.

Neither of Inter’s key management figures crossed paths with Icardi today, apparently because Marotta and Ausilio only deal with his wife and agent Wanda Nara now.

Icardi is likely to be excluded from Sunday’s International Champions Cup match against Tottenham and does not have a future at Inter.

Not even Conte’s 50th birthday put the coach in a good enough mood to cut Maurito any slack, as his tormented summer continues.
