Inter are on the verge of agreeing a deal with Manchester United to sign Alexis Sanchez, according to Gazzetta.it.
The Nerazzurri were in constant contact with the Red Devils and the Chilean’s agent this morning, in a bid to sort the final few details as quickly as possible.
Sanchez will join on loan with an option to buy for €15 million, with Inter contributing €5 million towards the remaining €12 million of his annual salary.
“These are decisive hours and an announcement appears to be imminent,” Gazzetta reported.
“At this point it really would be stunning if the deal fell through. We really are reaching the end of negotiations.”
Inter could pay a small fee of around €1 million for Sanchez’s initial loan deal, but if they did so it would be deducted from their €15 million option to buy.
The club are also working on finding an understudy to sign Romelu Lukaku, although Gazzetta did not mention any names.
Inter also want to sign another central midfielder before the window shuts and Antonio Conte’s preferred choice is Arturo Vidal, whom he coached for three years at Juventus.
Vidal has the same agent as Sanchez, Fernando Felicevich, meaning the Nerazzurri could accelerate talks at any moment, but negotiating with Barcelona in the final week of the transfer window is likely to be very difficult indeed.
