Ivan Zamorano spoke with Inter TV after attending Inter’s training session to meet with the Nerazzurri squad ahead of Saturday night’s Derby della Madonnina.

“It’s always nice for me to come back here, Inter is my home. All you hear about during the week is the derby whether you are in the street or out at a restaurant. The fans live it in a special way,” he explained.

“On a personal level, this is a game that must be won on principle. Therefore preparation is important, especially from a mental point of view. It seems to me that the team is ready to play a great game.”

He then went on to share his favourite personal experience from the derby.

“I scored in my first derby: we won 2-0, I scored with a header. That was a beautiful match. It was a magical and fascinating evening. I will carry it in my heart until the end of my days.”

The Chilean, who famously wore 1+8 whilst at Inter, then shared his views on the team’s start to the campaign.

“In the league we have started very well: three games, three victories. The team is amalgamating, Conte has found a balance in all the departments. We will fight for the Scudetto until the end. The Champions League is very difficult, all the teams are strong.”

He concluded by sharing his expectations of Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez and Lautaro Martinez.

“They are three players with different characteristics: Lukaku is great in the box, Sanchez is very versatile and Lautaro is an incredible fighter. These three strikers will definitely give Inter a lot.”
