Manchester United legend Bryan Robson has hit out at club leaders of the red devils for letting several established stars leave Old Trafford over the Summer and attributes this to why the 13 time Premier League champions have made a difficult start to the 2019/20 season.
“We have had quite a lot of injuries at this stage of the season and they have left themselves a little bit short. That is why they are where they are.
“Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Ander Herrera and Chris Smalling are all very experienced players. In this situation, you need those type of experienced players, rather than kids, to steady it,” Robson, who captained United during his 13 year spell there, told British news outlet The Sun.
“Unfortunately, Anthony Martial has a long-term injury and you can’t carry that when you let two top class strikers [in Lukaku and Sanchez] go and do not replace them.”
