If Alexis Sanchez Is Out Long Term, Inter Could Stop Sebastiano Esposito Going To U17 World Cup

Should Alexis Sanchez be ruled out long term, Inter could be forced to withdraw teen sensation Sebastiano Esposito from the Italy squad for the upcoming under 17 World Cup according to a report from broadcaster Sky Sport 24.

Whilst on international duty with Chile, Sanchez sustained an ankle injury and his condition is due to be evaluated today which will reveal the extent of the injury. As per reports that have done the rounds in the media, the 30-year-old, who joined on a season long loan in the Summer transfer window, could be out for between two and three months.

If Sanchez is out for a long time and Esposito was to go to the U17 World Cup, Inter would be left with just two out and out strikers in the team in the shape of Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku and only Matteo Politano, who is primarily a winger, as back-up.

It is therefore understandable why Inter are ready to hold Esposito back, especially given they face a packed fixture schedule in the coming weeks where rotation will be essential.
