Valentino Lazaro could stand to benefit from teammate Danilo D’Ambrosio’s injury according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Austrian has found minutes very hard to come by since his arrival from Hertha Berlin in the Summer and has appeared for all of 41 minutes this season.
Tests conducted by Inter’s medical staff yesterday confirmed that D’Ambrosio had broken a toe on his right foot whilst away representing Italy on international duty and as a result, he is expected to miss around 15 days – during which Inter have four games.
D’Ambrosio and Antonio Candreva have typically been alternating at right wing back but with D’Ambrosio out, Lazaro may now get further chances to impress Inter manager Antonio Conte.
Lazaro sustained an injury soon after joining Inter which slowed him down slightly but his performances in Austria’s two matches in the past week are evidence that his injury troubles are behind him and that he can make an impact.
