Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa has postponed all talks relating to his future to allow him to focus on the big matches coming up according to a report from Brazilian news outlet Globo Esporte.
The 23-year-old striker has been on fire in front of goal whilst on loan at Flamengo in the Brazilian top flight since January and the Rio de Janeiro club wish to sign him up on a permanent basis.
They have already tabled offers to both Inter and the player himself but will be forced to wait for a response from Gabigol, who should respond in December, when his loan spell with the club will expire.
The report stresses that Gabigol’s silence on the matter is in no way a sign of him wanting to not stay with the club, who he has netted 36 goals for in 50 appearances across all competitions. In fact, he welcomes the idea of being able to stay somewhere where he has become somewhat of an idol.
