Speaking in an interview with Chilean broadcaster Teletrece, Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has shared his hopes to see Alexis Sanchez return from injury soon.

“Alexis is an important player, who arrived this year but had the misfortune of getting hurt. I hope he can recover as quickly as possible and come back to help us, because he is an interesting player and can definitely give us a hand,” he said.

Sanchez joined the Nerazzurri this past Summer on a season long loan deal from Premier League club Manchester United.

He initially struggled to get himself into the team but played three games in a row prior to getting injured whilst representing the Chilean national team. All in all he has made four appearances, scoring one and assisting one.

He sustained an injury to his ankle that required surgery and he is not expected to make a return to action until after the New Year.
