Marco Correia, one of the intermediaries behind Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa’s loan move to Benfica from Inter, has spoken on how much he thinks the striker is now worth.
“I still have a splendid relationship with him, his agent and his family. They are all fantastic people. They have always treated me very well,” he began an interview with FCInterNews.it.
“Should they need me again in the future, then I will be at their disposal. I would not be surprised if one day we saw Gabriel playing in Spain, England or Germany.”
He was then asked if he thinks the 23-year-old has already made his mind up about his future.
“Honestly, I don’t think so. He will be celebrating winning the Copa Libertadores and Brazilian League and after that I imagine his focus will be on the Club World Cup. I believe that he will decide his future after this competition. Offers have never been lacking for him but I think that there will be even more for him now.”
In conclusion he was asked about the possibility of Gabigol getting another chance at Inter and how much he thinks Inter will want for him.
“Gabigol is an Inter player and has always shown enormous admiration for the Nerazzurri colours but I am not sure if he can be part of the Inter project.
“For months there has been an agreement between Flamengo and Inter for a figure of around €20 million plus a percentage of a future sale but I do not think that Inter will sell him for anything less than €35 million now.”
