Milan Mayor Sala: “I’m Optimistic & Positive, Inter & AC Milan Are Open To Dialogue”

In an interview with Italian press agency ANSA, Milan city mayor Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Sala has shared his optimism regarding further talks with both Inter and AC Milan relating to their new stadium project.

Firstly Sala was asked about the reports in the media which have suggested that the clubs could build their new stadium away from San Siro with the Sesto San Giovanni area of the city being a rumoured alternative destination.

“If Inter and Milan are looking at other areas than that of San Siro, obviously it is legitimate, god forbid. I certainly would like a meeting with the clubs. I will make a point of speaking to my team today to understand how we can relate to the clubs,” he said.

“There is no meeting planned but I believe we will meet. I continue to be optimisic and positive. I see that there is also an openness from the clubs to have dialogue.”
