Inter centre back Stefan de Vrij made it crystal clear that he and his teammates know just how important tonight’s match away to Slavia Prague is in the penultimate round of the Champions League group stage.

“We have to win if we want to progress past the group stage. We know how fundamental this match is for us. We are ready and focused to get this victory,” he remarked in an interview with Inter’s in-house channel, Inter TV.

“I feel good, although we can always improve. For me and for the team it will be another important test. I am like a deeper lying regista. If the team needs me to do it, I try to do it.”

The Dutchman has been virtually ever present for Antonio Conte’s side this season making 15 appearances across all competitions. He has one goal to his name and has four assists too, which is particularly impressive given his position.
