Antonio Conte is refusing to let the odds that are stacked firmly against his Inter side get to him ahead of tonight’s Champions League encounter with Slavia Prague.
Inter head into the game knowing that they must win to keep their chances of progression in the competition alive but it will be far from easy for them with them coming up against a Slavia side who have already caused them and other group members problems.
“We must always play with one goal in mind and that is to get the three points. It will be a difficult game for us. We are in a difficult situation and we know it but we hope we can cultivate some hope. We have to play a great match. Let the best team win,” he said.
Next he was asked about the many different scorers that he has had this season.
“We care a lot about the attack and our work in this regard is bearing fruit but we must continue to work on the defensive phase. Slavia Prague are a great team and they have already shown that last year in the Europa League. This game arrives at the right time for us.”
In conclusion he reflected on what went wrong when the sides met earlier on in the group stage.
“We have studied that match very well and analysed it very specifically. They played a risky game and risked a lot. We could have done better. Slavia play in a totally different way in the Champions League to how they play in their league matches.”
