A report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport has highlighted just how reliant Inter have been on some of their players this season.
Inter already have five players who have exceeded 2000 minutes on the field, which is more than any other Serie A club have managed: Samir Handanovic (2430 minutes), Milan Skriniar (2340 minutes), Marcelo Brozovic (2292 minutes), Romelu Lukaku (2201 minutes) and Stefan de Vrij (2094 minutes).
Striker Lautaro Martinez is on the verge of becoming the sixth player with 2000 minutes to his name this term and should he play 77 minutes of Sunday’s match against Cagliari, he will hit 2000.
Juventus have three players with 2000 or more minutes in Leonardo Bonucci (2326 minutes), Miralem Pjanic (2127 minutes) and Cristiano Ronaldo (2117 minutes).
The report from the Milan based newspaper goes on to add that Lazio, who are also involved in the Serie A title race with Juventus and Inter, have two players with 2000 plus minutes in Francesco Acerbi (2386 minutes) and Thomas Strakosha (2160 minutes).
