Udinese talisman Rodrigo de Paul has shared his delight with his side’s performance in their 2-0 loss at home to Inter on Sunday night.
Udinese made Antonio Conte’s Inter side really work for their three points at the Stadio Friuli in Udine but could not stop the in-form Romelu Lukaku.
The 26-year-old Belgian international netted his 19th and 20th goals of the season across all competitions to give Inter a win that snapped a three game streak in which Inter drew every league game.
Speaking with Udinese’s official club broadcaster Udinese TV, de Paul said: “We had a great match, unfortunately when you face teams like Inter you can not make any mistakes because otherwise these things happen.
“Now we must turn our heads to Brescia and for us it will be another final. We need to work hard to do our best hoping that luck will turn on our side.”
de Paul also appeared to hit out at the match officials for their failure to award the Bianconeri a penalty during the match with them having a few penalty calls dismissed by referee Marco Di Bello.
“In 22 games this season Udinese have not had even a penalty in our favour, in the long run these things make an impact.”
The versatile Argentine international midfielder has made 20 appearances across all competitions. In 1567 minutes on the field, the former Valencia player has four goals and two assists.
