Inter Manager Conte Thinking About 2 Different Systems To Use In Milan Derby

Inter manager Antonio Conte is considering two systems ahead of this weekend’s second Derby della Madonnina of the season with AC Milan according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

Due to injuries and suspensions, Conte is likely going to have to abandon his tried and tested 3-5-2 system that Inter have almost exclusively used throughout this season barring a few games.

The first system the former Italian national team manager is thinking of using is a 3-5-1-1 system. Conte, as per the report, would deploy Christian Eriksen in the hole behind lone striker Romelu Lukaku if he goes with this system.

The second system is a 3-4-2-1 but Conte’s plans for this system could be changed if Stefano Sensi is available to him. The Italian midfielder has been struggling with injury as of late and is doubtful for the game but some reports have said he could return.

If Sensi does return, he will play in the attacking midfield role alongside Christian Eriksen in behind Romelu Lukaku. If he does not return, Matias Vecino will partner Eriksen instead.
