Inter Captain Handanovic’s Chances Of Playing In Milan Derby Will Become Clearer On Friday

It will not be until Friday that things will be clearer regarding Samir Handanovic’s condition according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset.

The experienced Slovenian international goalkeeper sustained a hand injury in training last Friday and x-rays highlighted a hairline fracture to one of his fingers in his left hand which has put him at great risk of missing out on Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina with AC Milan.

Handanovic missed Inter’s 2-0 win away to Udinese this past weekend with the injury, which typically takes between three and four weeks to fully recover from.

Handanovic is continuing to train albeit without the ball and near the end of this week he will begin to work again with the ball with a protective brace on his hand.

The report goes on to explain that Stefano Sensi, who has recently been dealing with a calf injury, will be back available for the derby on Sunday night at San Siro.
