Samir Handanovic’s condition has improved but it is still to early to say whether he will be available for this Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina with AC Milan according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.
The 35-year-old goalkeeper, and Inter club captain, sustained a hand injury in training on Friday and x-rays conducted by Inter’s medical staff showed that he has a hairline fracture in one of the fingers on his left hand.
Handanovic did not play in the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 win over Udinese on Sunday night as a result and the report states that the swelling in the area has reduced.
However, it will not be until Friday or Saturday when an evaluation will be made as to whether or not he will be available to Inter manager Antonio Conte for selection for Sunday night’s clash at the San Siro.
The report goes on to add that Nicolo Barella and Marcelo Brozovic will both start the match and it is a fight between Matias Vecino, Stefano Sensi and Christian Eriksen for the final shirt in the midfield.
