Having had to settle for starting from the bench once again in last night’s loss to Lazio, Christian Eriksen could start in Thursday night’s Europa League round of 32 first leg match-up against Ludogorets according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 28-year-old Danish international attacking midfielder joined Inter during the recent January transfer window from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur but has not been used quite as much as expected since his arrival at the club.
The former Ajax player has played in every game since his arrival but just one of his five appearances have come as a starter and he has only been on the pitch for a total of 137 minutes from a possible 450.
Eriksen has shown some glimpses of what he is capable of but has ultimately not been given enough time on the pitch to completely show it.
He has yet to make any goal contributions but can perhaps be considered unlucky in this regard. In his debut he assisted a goal that was quickly disallowed and he very nearly scored a long range free kick in the recent Milan derby but the ball crashed off the under side of the bar and bounced out rather than going in.
