Lautaro Martinez is Barcelona’s number one target to bolster their attacking department in the upcoming Summer transfer window according to a report from Spanish news outlet El Desmarque.
The 22-year-old Argentine is viewed by the reigning Spanish champions as the long term replacement for the ageing Luis Suarez, who has not long turned 33-years-old and has just under 18 months left on his contract at the Nou Camp.
Lautaro has a €111 million release clause in his current contract with Inter, a clause which can only be activated in the first two weeks of July.
As per various other reports, Barcelona cannot pay his release clause due to having to be careful for Financial Fair Play purposes but could be ready to offer Inter a deal a player or players plus cash deal that would be worth around €150 million, when taking into consideration the values of the players they’d be sending to Inter.
The report from El Desmarque goes on to state that if Barcelona cannot do a deal with Inter over Lautaro Martinez, they could do a deal with the Nerazzurri club over Mauro Icardi in the event Paris Saint Germain do not take up their purchase option on him.
