Chelsea are monitoring Mauro Icardi with a view to possibly making a Summer transfer window move for him according to British news outlet The Sun.
Icardi is currently out on loan at reigning French champions Paris Saint Germain from Inter and PSG have an option to sign him permanently for €70 million come the end of the season.
However, in order for this move to materialise, Icardi has to give his blessing and in the event he does not and a potential permanent move collapses, Chelsea are ready to swoop in.
There have been contrasting reports in the media about PSG’s intentions for 27-year-old Icardi, who has scored 19 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions to date for them. Some reports state PSG are certain to activate the option whilst others state they are not so sure.
Both Barcelona and Real Madrid as well as Inter’s arch rivals Juventus are said to be keeping tabs on Icardi and his situation ahead of the Summer too.
