Lega Serie A and Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia are in discussions over the possibility of making this coming weekend’s Derby D’Italia between Juventus and Inter a free to air match according to a report in today’s print edition of La Stampa.
Due to the Coronavirus outbreak in Italy, it is as good as certain that the match between the two arch rivals will be played behind closed doors at the Allianz Stadium in a bid to limit any potential spread of the virus, of which there are over 200 confirmed cases in the country.
With fans more than likely to miss out on the opportunity to attend in person, Lega Serie A and Sky Sport Italia could save the day and make the game freely available to view without the need for a Sky Sport subscription package.
There has been no official confirmation that the game will be behind closed doors but there are an increasing number of reports suggesting that this will be the case.
