Report Reveals Serie A Has Second Most Cards Per Game On Average In European Football

As part of their latest report, the CIES Football Observatory have compared the average number of cards given out per game in the 92 top leagues in world football from Ghana to Japan.

The Bolivian Primera Division is the league with the most cards per game with an average of 7.01 cards. The Uruguayan Primera Division has the second mot with 6.61 and the Guatemalan Liga Nacional is third with 6.44.

The Ukranian Premier League has the highest cards per game rate of all European leagues with an average cards per game rate of 6.19.

Serie A has the second highest in Europe and 10th highest world wide with an average cards per game rate of 5.82.

When it comes to individual clubs, Bologna have the highest rate among Serie A clubs of 3.71. Genoa are in second with 3.63 and Roma are in third with 3.38.

Inter have a rate of 2.79 cards per game, which places them around mid-table when it comes to Serie A and the lowest cards per game rating across Serie A belongs to Parma who have a rate of 2.25.
