Italian Report Suggests Possible Solution For How Lega Serie A Can Reschedule Fixtures Including Juventus-Inter

In today’s print edition, Rome based newspaper La Repubblica have proposed a possible solution that the Lega Serie A could adopt to sort six of the nine games needing re-scheduled as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak in Italy.

The outbreak of the virus has wreaked havoc on the Italian football calendar with no less than nine games postponed in the past two weeks.

The postponements have brought about a bit of a logistical nightmare for Lega Serie A who are trying to work out the best way to re-arrange the matches.

AC Milan versus Genoa, Sampdoria versus Hellas Verona, Sassuolo versus Brescia, Parma versus SPAL and Udinese versus Fiorentina could all take place this coming weekend. Juventus versus Inter could meanwhile take place on March 9. Alternatively, all matches barring AC Milan versus Genoa could be played on March 9.

The remaining fixtures needing re-scheduled could all be played on May 13 but this will largely depend on how teams competing in Europe, such as Inter, get on. Depending on their progress, games could be played on different dates.
