Julio Cesar today warned Inter’s rivals in Serie A that the Nerazzurri will be a different proposition under Antonio Conte this season.
Inter have not won a single trophy since the Brazilian’s penultimate season with the club, when Leonardo let them to a Coppa Italia triumph in 2011.
Cesar was with Conte’s side as they toured Asia last week and assured they were already making great progress.
“There’s a lot of work still to do but you can already see Conte implementing his philosophy and ideas,” the former goalkeeper told Sport Mediaset at Malpensa airport.
“Hopefully the players can embrace the ideas as quickly as possible and put them into practice.
“It’s a shame Inter haven’t done well in these last few years but they’ll always fight to win things. I think this year will be different.”
Cesar reminded his former club of their need to sign a couple of forwards, but he is convinced Inter already have the strongest defence in Europe.
“They did well to sign Diego Godin, because he’s a good player with strong technique,” Cesar continued.
“Samir Handanovic has done very well during the last few years too. He’s one of the best keepers in the world and he can stay in goal for Inter.”
