Italian Report Explains Why Genoa Couldn’t Offload Ex-Inter Striker Pinamonti In January

CalcioMercato.com have explained the reasoning behind Genoa’s failure to offload Andrea Pinamonti during the recent January transfer window.

The Italian youth international striker joined the Rossoblu club in the Summer on a season long loan with obligation to buy from Inter, an obligation that would come into force this month and this made it pretty much impossible for Genoa to move Pinamonti on, despite interest from a whole host of other clubs.

Moreover, as part of the deal between Genoa and Inter, it is understood that there is an agreement in place for Inter to buy back the 20-year-old and for Pinamonti to have left, Inter would have had to have agreed to give this up.

Since joining the Stadio Luigi Ferraris side, the former Chievo Verona academy player has made 19 appearances across all competitions. In 1422 minutes on the park, Pinamonti has netted four goals and also provided three assists for his teammates.
