Inter Midfielder Vecino: “We Knew It Wouldn’t Be Easy, We’re Taking Home A Good Result”

Inter central midfielder Matias Vecino has shared his thoughts following Inter’s 2-0 away win against Ludogorets in the Europa League.

“We knew it wouldn’t be easy, everyone wants to make a good impression against Inter. We struggled in the first half, then we talked between ourselves in the half time interval and in the second half we improved. We are taking home a good result,” he told Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia following the match.

Next he spoke on why Inter seem to have done better in the second half of games as of late with Inter also performing noticeably better in recent matches with AC Milan and Lazio in Serie A.

“The inconsistency between the performances in both halves in recent games? It all depends on the moments and the match. With AC Milan we were better in the second half and against Lazio we did well too. When you are playing every three days it is normal not to play at a high intensity for the whole 90 minutes.”

In conclusion Vecino spoke on the rest of the season Inter are facing and how he is feeling from a personal point of view.

“We have to think game after game, let’s think about Samp and then about Ludogorets again. On a personal level, I’m fine, I feel confident, so I’m happy.”

Vecino joined Inter in the Summer of 2017 from fellow Serie A side Fiorentina in a deal worth €24 million. Since joining he has made 94 appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored 11 goals and provided six assists for his teammates.

This season Vecino has found himself in and out of the team this season and was expected to leave the club in January but due to injuries he has found himself reinstated in the side. He has made 22 appearances in total and has three goals and a single assist.
